The Wimbledon Finalists Win Together, and Czechia Is One Match From Another Title

A few months ago, Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova played each other for the Wimbledon title, and Noskova won. On Friday in Shenzhen they were on the same side, and neither dropped a set.

Muchova opened the Billie Jean King Cup semifinal by beating Spain's Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 7-5, 6-4. Noskova, ranked sixth, closed it out 7-6 (5), 6-2 against Cristina Bucsa, and Czechia was through 2-0.

The Czechs have won the event, formerly called the Fed Cup, 11 times. In Sunday's final they'll play either Ukraine or Italy, the two-time defending champion. That semifinal is Saturday.
