Not a Scorer, a Creator: How Nick Nurse Plans to Use LeBron James in Philadelphia
On the first day of offensive installs, Nurse laid out a role for James that's more point forward than go-to scorer.

The 76ers spent the first two days of camp on defense. On Thursday, Nick Nurse finally put in the offense, and with it came the first clear picture of what LeBron James will do in Philadelphia.
James is the NBA's all-time leading scorer. Nurse doesn't plan to use him mainly as a scorer.
I consider him a great offense creator. I don't necessarily mean scorer, I just think creator and a table setter and all that kind of stuff.
Team sources told ESPN the Sixers talked about playing James at point forward this summer. Nurse described it simply: if James isn't bringing the ball up to start a possession, he'll probably get the first pass on the wing, read what's there and create for everyone else.
Plenty of hands on the ball
James won't be the only one running things. Nurse said he has several "grab-and-go" players who can take a rebound and push. Along with James, that's Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe, the other three starters he named.
In the half court, James, Brown and Joel Embiid can all work out of the post. Spacing will be the challenge with that many players who want the ball in similar spots. James is fourth on the NBA's all-time assists list, which suggests he's the one most comfortable giving it up.
It's a lot of star power for one offense. Putting it in the hands of a 24th-year veteran who has spent his career making teammates better is the logical place to start.
